Dear CSF Supporters,
Now that a week has passed, I hope you have given some thought to the significance of last week’s local election results. From the outset, CSF has strived to be a non-partisan organization. Yet one of our pillars is very clear, and that is the need to adequately fund our infrastructure. That is why we led the effort to pass initiative 2C in 2015 and enthusiastically supported 1A and 2A this election cycle.
Well-functioning infrastructure is essential for our community to compete and thrive in the 21st century, and these initiatives will position Colorado Springs positively for the next several years.
Relatedly, it was encouraging to see the myriad of initiatives supporting our local school districts receive the support they needed. In particular, the passing of the MLO in District 11 was crucial to provide a boost to our largest (and central) school district. It is now incumbent on the community to hold D-11 accountable to improve student performance. We will be watching this effort closely.
Thank you for your efforts to support these initiatives and for getting out and voting. Undoubtedly the ballot will be crowded again in 2018. As issues begin to surface we will be sure to keep you informed.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving, as we have much to be thankful for!
